Mr. Kurth graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in literature. He graduated from Arizona State University Armstrong School of Law in 1980.
After graduation from law school he began representing injured workers at the law firm of Chris T. Johnson PC where he worked for five years. In 1985 Mr. Kurth was certified by the State Bar of Arizona as an expert in Arizona workers compensation law. In 1985 Mr. Kurth was appointed as an Administrative Law Judge at the Industrial Commission of Arizona where he decided workers compensation claims and OSHA cases. In 1988 he returned to private practice at Jones, Skelton & Hochuli PLC. There he practiced workers compensation defense and OSHA defense for almost 25 years.
Mr. Kurth is an owner in the law firm of Jardine, Baker, Hickman & Houston PLLC. He is admitted to practice in Arizona and before the United States District Court.
Mr. Kurth has been placed on a number of lists of the best lawyers in Arizona over the last 30 years and he was on the Executive Committee of the State Bar Workers Compensation Committee for six years. He has been a Co-Chairman of the Arizona State Bar Worker’s Compensation Section. He has lectured and presented at numerous legal seminars throughout his career in Arizona and in other states. He limits his practice to workers compensation defense.
