After receiving his undergraduate degree in Spanish from Arizona State University in 1989, Mr. Bergen graduated cum laude from Arizona State University College of Law in December, 1992. He was licensed as an attorney in Arizona in May of 1993, and admitted to the U.S. District Court in 1995. While in law school, Mr. Bergen was a Willard H. Pedrick Scholar, a recipient of a Koontz Scholarship. He is a recipient of the Order of the Coif. From 1996 to 2003, Mr. Bergen was associated with Teilborg, Sanders and Parks, P.C.; in 2004 he joined Bowman and Brooke LLP where he was an equity partner. In 2007 he reunited with former colleagues from Teilborg, Sanders and Parks at the firm of Jardine, Baker, Hickman and Houston.

Curtis Bergen focuses his practice on medical malpractice defense litigation and physician licensing discipline matters. His medical malpractice experience includes physician defense, hospital defense, nursing home defense and defending healthcare providers at institutional review and licensing boards. He also defends physicians and healthcare institutions in pharmaceutical and medical device litigation. In addition he has represented attorneys in legal malpractice actions.

Curtis has defended physicians and healthcare providers throughout Arizona. He has significant trial experience in defending cardiologists, obstetricians and a variety of health care providers. In 2002, upon invitation, he attended and completed the National Institute of Trial Advocacy's Advanced Trial Course.

Mr. Bergen is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, Arizona Association of Defense Counsel. He is fluent in Spanish.
